Pesticides used in farming that leach into bodies of water such as ponds, lakes, rivers, and oceans can affect many to all animals in many ways. These pesticides are made up of a variation of elements on the periodic table.

Some of the elements that are put into pesticides are chlorine, bromine, and nitrogen. This can be an issue for many reasons. Let’s start with nitrogen, nitrogen is essential for all life but high levels of it can be very bad especially for infants and pregnant women. It is bad for them because it can cause methemoglobinemia or blue-baby syndrome Symptoms may include headache, dizziness, shortness of breath, nausea, poor muscle coordination, and blue-colored skin.

Now about bromine, Breathing bromine gas could cause you to cough, have trouble breathing, get a headache, have irritation inside your mouth, nose, etc. Bromine can also make you dizzy, or have watery eyes. Getting bromine liquid or gas on your skin could cause skin irritation and burns.

Lastly chlorine, chlorine can be devastating in ponds, lakes, etc.. it can also badly harm humans, animals, and plants. There are also many ways for chlorine to get into the environment like house hold products, Disinfection process, Industrial Process, and storage disposal process.
