Chemicals that dirty the clean water

Water is made up of two chemicals, hydrogen and oxygen. There is 2 hydrogen’s and one oxygen. 3 chemicals that pollute the water making it hard for first nations people to have clean water are mercury, lead and cadmium.

Mercury in water is very difficult to see but can cause many problems. Mercury can cause  nervous, digestive and immune systems, lungs and kidney problems, it can be fatal.

Cadmium gets into the water from of plumbing, industrial waste contamination, or surface water contamination by certain fertilizers. Cadmium dissolves easily in water and is extremely toxic.

Lead from pollution in water comes from factories fossil fuels, mine, smelt, and manufacture. If it gets into water system it can cause lead poisoning.
