Soil Erosion can affect waterways in Haiti
By
Soil erosion has led to many rocks and large piles of sand rolling off hills into streams and rivers below. These waterways then become clogged and decreases the amount of water flowing through that area. if the waterways are clogged fish and other species that need water to live wouldn’t have access to flowing water and the fish can’t find food to survive. without food for the fish they could eventually die off and limit the amount of fish the people in Haiti are able to catch to eat. If the waterways are clogged then the river or stream can over flow which can lead to flooding. if flooding occurs then the soil will erosion even more because… All of this can be caused by soil erosion. Flooding can occur which can lead to the whole waterway drying up and then fish that live in those waterways will not have a home. If a waterway floods because of soil falling off hills, it can cause even more soil erosion on a dried up riverbank.
