The decline in bee population

   The decline in bee population

                                                                          By Rylee Gowland

The problem I am working on is the decline in bee population. There are many things that are causing this. That is what we will be mainly talking about. The bees do so much for us and we barely do anything in return. We damage their homes and destroy everything they build. The help grow our food and pollinate our flowers. With out them our plants and flowers will die.

These bees make homes for millions and millions of other insects and other animals. If they are dying there will be no homes for these animals and insects. The major culprits are habitat loss, climate change, toxic pesticides and diseases. The main ecosystems that are affected is the tropical forests, savannah woodlands and temperate deciduous forests. The role they play as pollinators is vital.

Who is responsible for the damage?                                                                                                                                                                                       There is a lot of things that are responsible for the decline in the bee population. There is also so many threats that it has led to nearly all of Europe’s wild bee species facing extinction.

Who and what is affected by the ecological environmental issue?

In 2013 to 2014 Canadian beekeepers have lost between 15 to 29% of their bees. Ontario has been the most affected province within 58% loss in 2014. It will affect a lot of other animals and insects the bees help build their homes millions and millions of them. They help a lot of things grow as well. With the bees gone there will be less growth and less homes for animals and insect.

What are the shorts and long term affects of this issue?

There will be less plants and crops being pollinated but I Believe that will only be a short term affect because the technology now will somehow come up with a way to pollinate these plants and crops without bees. Here is some thing Brian Garson-Pilbeam said “The long-term effects will be, without bees we face of massive population crisis that will affect the whole planet”.

Are there any other ecosystems affected as well?

Yes other ecosystems will be affected these bees help out so many ecosystems they pollinate and make millions and millions of homes for insects and animals.

Here are some other facts I came across about this issue.

I learned that bees create other homes for millions and millions and millions of insects and animals I never knew this.
