coal mining in South Africa

By

There is so much pollution in south Africa from coal mining. Coal mining has poisoned rivers and polluted the air in south Africa. A study suggested that the pollution levels are the cause of more than 2000 premature deaths per year in south Africa. One of the worst impacts of coal mining is acid mine drainage. Acid mine drainage is the outflow of acidic water from metal mines and coal mines. The acid mine drainage remains the largest effect problem of coal mining around the world but especially in south Africa, where acid mine drainage has been ignored by the government for over 100 years already. The mining companies are the ones to blame for the damage caused by coal mining in south Africa. They still haven’t found a better way to mine coal.
